- Mutton Bone – Mutton Bone Broth is the main ingredient of this soup. We could make this soup with Mutton pieces or with chicken or with vegetables.
- Shallots – Shallots give a unique taste to the soup. It may be substituted with onion.
- Tomato – Tomato is added to give a slight tangy taste to the soup.
- Salt -Salt is added for seasoning and to balance all tastes.
- Ginger & Garlic Paste – Ginger & Garlic paste is added to give a nice aroma and taste.
- Pepper – Pepper is a good spice and it combines well in soups.
- Jeera/ Cumin Seeds – Crushed Cumin will give a nice flavor and helps in digestion.

How to make Mutton Soup?
In a pressure cooker add cooking oil and let it heat. Now add, cinnamon stick and bay leaves if you like the flavor. Then add chopped onions and saute till light golden brown. Then add ginger-garlic paste and saute for 1 minute.

Then add chopped tomatoes and sauté till it softens.


Now add cleaned mutton pieces/ bones chili powder, coriander powder and saute for 1 minute. Finally, add finely crushed pepper, cumin & fennel seeds powder, salt, curry leaves and required quantity (not more than 5 cups) of hot water.


When it boils well close the pressure cooker and cook for at least 5 whistles (till mutton cooks well). Finally, our tasty healthy mutton soup is ready to serve. Don’t forget to garnish with coriander leaves.

Heat a pressure pan . Add cooking oil. Then add finely chopped onion & curry leaves and saute for 3 minutes.
Now add ginger-garlic paste and saute for 1 minute. Then add chopped tomatoes and saute for 3 minutes.
Now add mutton pieces/ bones, chili powder, coriander powder & turmeric powder and sauté for 3 minutes. Then add finely crushed pepper- jeera – fennel powder, salt and 4 to 5 cups of hot water and mix well. Let it boil.
Close the pressure pan and cook till the mutton is done. Let the pressure gets released by itself.
Finally, garnish with curry leaves and coriander leaves. This will give an amazing taste to our soup. So, don’t skip it.
