About Mutton Soup

Ingredients
- Mutton – ½ Kgs
- Shallots – 8 to 10
- Tomato – 1
- Salt – ½ teaspoon
- Ginger & Garlic Paste – 1 teaspoon
- Pepper – 1 teaspoon
- Jeera/ Cumin Seeds – 1 teaspoon
- Fennel Seeds – 1 teaspoon
- Chili powder – ½ teaspoon
- Coriander powder – ½ teaspoon
- Curry leaves
- Coriander leaves
How to make Mutton Soup?
- In a pressure cooker add cooking oil and let it heat.
- Now add, chopped shallots and saute till light golden brown. Then add ginger-garlic paste and saute for 1 minute.
- Then add chopped tomatoes and saute till it softens. Now add chili powder, coriander powder and saute for 1 minute.
- Now add our cleaned mutton pieces/ bones and curry leaves. Saute for 2 minutes. Finally, add finely crushed pepper, cumin & fennel seeds powder, salt and required quantity (not more than 5 cups) of hot water.
- When it boils well close the pressure cooker and cook for at least 5 whistles (till mutton cooks well). Finally, our tasty healthy mutton soup is ready to serve. Don’t forget to garnish with coriander leaves.
What common mistakes we generally do?
- As mutton takes time to cook well and so cook enough number of whistles. Tender ones cook in just 3 to 4 whistles but meat of matured ones take 5 to 6 whistles. So cook the mutton accordingly.
- Add pepper & chilli powder according to your spiciness.

Ingredients
- Mutton
- Onion & Tomato
- Ginger-Garlic Paste
- Chili Powder, Coriander Powder & Turmeric Powder
- Curry leaves & Coriander Leaves
- Pepper, Jeera & Fennel Seeds powdered coarsely
- Oil & Salt
Instructions
- Heat a pressure pan . Add cooking oil. Then add finely chopped onion & curry leaves and saute for 3 minutes.
- Now add ginger-garlic paste and saute for 1 minute. Then add chopped tomatoes and saute for 3 minutes.
- Now add chili powder, coriander powder & turmeric powder and saute for 30 seconds. Then add salt and 4 to 5 cups of hot water and mix well. Let it boil.
- Close the pressure pan and cook till the mutton is done. After the pressure gets released, open the pressure pan and add finely crushed pepper, jeera & fennel seeds.
- Mix well and let the soup boil for 2 minutes. Garnish with curry leaves and coriander leaves. This will give an amazing taste to our soup. So, don't skip it.
