How to make Sooji Kheer?

  • Boil water in a heavy bottomed sauce pan.
  • Then add sooji/ rava little by little into the boiling water. Mix well with a spoon so that no lumps will form.
  • Let the sooji cook in a medium flame for 5 minutes (till it cooks).
  • Then add milk and let them combine well for 3 to 4 minutes.
  • Now add sugar, elaichi powder and roasted cashews and mix well. Turn off the stove and serve hot.

What common mistakes we do?

  1. When adding sooji to the boiling water lumps will form. Don’t worry. Mixing with a whisk will resolve the problem easily.
  2. Since after turning off the stove and getting cool, the consistency of kheer changes a little thick. You may adjust the consistency by adding boiling milk. Check for sweetness after adding milk.
