Health Benefits of Broken Wheat
Ingredients – 1 cup Broken Wheat
– 1⁄2 cup Grated Coconut
– 1 cup Hot Water
– 1⁄2 teaspoon Salt (As per taste)
Take broken wheat in a bowl. Add salt and mix. Now add hot water into it till it absorb water. Leave it aside for 10 minutes to cool.
Soaking
Fill puttu kuzhal with alternate layers of soaked broken wheat and grated coconut. Cover it with lid.
Boil water for steaming. Place the filled puttu kuzhal on steam and cook for 10 minutes.
Transfer the cooked pittu in a serving plate. Kadala curry is the best accompaniment to any puttu. But we may serve with cooked green gram, papad and banana famously known as Puttu-Pazham-Payaru-Papadam.
